Case Study

Challenge Update the kitchen of this traditional, Craftsman-style Seattle home to introduce modern functionality and space efficiency while preserving the original feel.

Solution Install new custom cabinets featuring a traditional door style and finish, subway tile, crown molding, and wainscot. Blend these classic elements with contemporary barstools, quartz countertops, stainless appliances, and glass pendant lighting.

Results This once-dingy room now radiates light and warmth, with the new cream-colored cabinets and subway tile balanced by soft grays, yellows, corals, and greens to evoke the feel of a traditional home.

Abundant counter space and an openness that accommodates easy, fluid movement for culinary activity smoothly usher this old kitchen into the 21st century.
